What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered that an airbag has deployed, and the code is then set. It is an event-controlled information code and does not indicate a fault in the engine control module. It does, however, block the high-pressure fuel pump, so the engine runs only on the low-pressure pump, which can lead to fuel system codes as a knock-on effect.
Possible causes
- An airbag has deployed
- A fault in the supplemental restraint system (SRS)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the airbag and the supplemental restraint system; do not work on them yourself
- 2Fuel system codes should only be fault-traced if they return after the SRS codes have been remedied and cleared
- 3Clear this code once the SRS faults are remedied and road test the car to check that the engine runs smoothly
Symptoms you may notice5
- Engine is hard to start
- The engine does not start, or cranks without starting
- The engine stalls
- Poor performance and lack of power, especially when pulling away from rest
- Warning lamp and text message in the display
What the fault can affect2
- The high-pressure fuel pump is switched off
- The engine then runs only on the pressure from the low-pressure pump
