What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the engine's ignition. This is an event-controlled information code, set when the ignition stays outside its limits for a certain time while the engine runs. It does not point to a fault in the module, and it does not indicate a fault that must be repaired.
Possible causes
- The code does not come from any fault that requires repair
What you can do
- 1Do not fault-trace the code by itself; it is an information code showing that the ignition has been outside its limits for a while
- 2If the car jerks or hesitates, read the fault codes in the engine control module and deal with the other codes first
- 3Clear the code once any other faults are remedied, then road test the car to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice5
- Jerky running
- Message in the display
- Poor performance and lack of power, especially when starting
- Hesitation and surging during acceleration, deceleration and at steady speed
- Text window with a warning symbol and text message
What the fault can affect1
- Fuel supply is cut off while the fault is active
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
