What does this fault code mean?
The software checksum in the engine control module does not match the one held by the central electronic module (CEM). The engine does not start while the fault is active. The code points to a primary fault in the engine control module, and that primary fault should be fixed first.
Possible causes
- Incorrect software checksum in the engine control module, so the checksum does not match the CEM
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes and look for the primary fault in the engine control module, then fix that first
- 2Check that the battery has a good charge and that the fuses are intact
- 3Erase this code only once the primary fault is fixed, then try a start to see whether the checksum fault returns
- 4If the engine control module has been reprogrammed or replaced, have a workshop check the software, since software is loaded by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start
