What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module receives the speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) over CAN. The fault code is set when that signal is wrong. Because the code is stored, the fault most likely lies in the sending module, so fault-tracing is carried out there.

- The brake control module (BCM) sends an implausible speed value
What you can do
- 1There is no separate fault-tracing for this code. Start in the brake control module, since it is the one sending the speed signal
- 2Read out the fault codes in the brake control module and fix them first
- 3Erase the code in the engine control module only after the root fault code has been fixed and erased
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the speed value in live data with the speed shown on the instruments during a test drive
- 5The brake control module governs ABS. If the brakes or ABS feel uncertain, do not drive the car; have a workshop check it
