VOLVO
ECM-F00D - Gas pressure sensor, governor. Static signal
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
3 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module keeps track of the low-pressure gas side, measured by a sensor between the regulator and the fuel rail. The fault code concerns a sensor signal that changes too little although the driving load varies. Gas operation is then not possible, and the car switches over to petrol by itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged gas pressure sensor
- The gas pressure sensor signal changes implausibly little when the driving load varies
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are in the owner's manual
- 2Inspect the sensor plug and its terminals for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the gas pressure in live data while the engine runs on gas, and check that the value changes when the engine is loaded
- 4Erase the fault code and road test the car on gas to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the gas regulator and the gas pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- Gas power is not possible
- Automatic switchover from gas to petrol power
What the fault can affect1
- A fixed value replaces the reading from the gas pressure sensor
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
