What does this fault code mean?
At some point the engine control module has detected incorrect fuel pressure while the engine was warm and the fuel flow control valve was regulating pressure. The code is a general electrical fault with a low signal in the valve circuit. The fault is intermittent, meaning it was stored at some point but may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- Leakage somewhere in the fuel system
- Air in the fuel lines
- Clogged fuel filter
- Faulty fuel pressure sensor
- Faulty fuel flow control valve
- Faulty feed pump
What you can do
- 1Read the codes and fix any feed pump codes first, then clear the codes and road test
- 2Check the fuel level in the tank and top up if it is low
- 3Look for leaks in the fuel lines and connections, and check whether the fuel filter is clogged
- 4Check the connectors at the fuel pressure sensor and the flow control valve for looseness, oxidation or damage
- 5Use a multimeter to check that the wiring to the sensor and valve has no open circuit and no contact with ground
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure in live data with the engine warm and note whether the value is steady
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
