What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the control signal to bypass valve A, which acts as the turbo's blow-off valve, being shorted to battery voltage. The engine control module uses the valve to reduce noise bursts when the accelerator is released quickly, and sets the code when the control signal is too high. It is checked with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Faulty blow-off valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the blow-off valve is not shorted to supply voltage
- 3Check the connector at the blow-off valve for loose or corroded parts
- 4If the fault remains after troubleshooting: have a workshop check the blow-off valve
Symptoms you may notice3
- The car lacks power
- Unusual noise while driving, not clear when it occurs
- Unusual noise when the accelerator is released
