What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the heater element control of the front oxygen sensor on bank 1, sensor 1, which has been missing for a certain time. The signal is then treated as invalid. The causes are contact resistance in the connectors or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged front heated oxygen sensor
What you can do
- 1Look at the oxygen sensor connector for oxidation and contact resistance, and correct what you find
- 2Rust solvent spray or grease does not belong in the oxygen sensor connector
- 3Read the fault code with a diagnostic tool and note whether it is active or only stored
- 4With a multimeter, check that the wiring to the sensor has no open circuit
- 5If the connector and wiring are intact but the fault remains, replace the front oxygen sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp lights up
