What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the preheating circuit of the rear oxygen sensor on bank 2, sensor 2, is short-circuited to supply voltage. Preheating of the rear sensor is then switched off for as long as the fault remains.
Possible causes
- Power lead short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged rear heated oxygen sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault status with a diagnostic tool with the ignition on, once the diagnostic is complete. Fault found means the fault is present now
- 2Rust solvent spray or grease does not belong in the oxygen sensor connector
- 3Make sure the fuses are intact. Their location is on the fuse chart or in the instruction manual
- 4Look for chafing or pinch damage on the lead to the sensor, where it may have touched a live wire
- 5With a multimeter, check that the preheating lead is not short-circuited to supply voltage
- 6Replace the rear oxygen sensor if the fault remains after checking the wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp lights up
What the fault can affect1
- Preheating of the rear oxygen sensor is switched off
