What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named barometric pressure against turbo inlet pressure, it concerns the signal from the atmospheric pressure sensor, which the engine control module checks all the time. The code is set when the control signal is too high.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to supply voltage in the signal lead
- The relief valve is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code with a diagnostic tool with the ignition in position II and note whether it is active
- 2Make sure the fuses are intact. Their location is on the fuse chart or in the instruction manual
- 3With a multimeter, check that the signal lead is not short-circuited to supply voltage
- 4Check the relief valve and its connector for damage and loose connections
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check that the control module reads the correct atmospheric pressure if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor performance
