What does this fault code mean?
An implausible reading from the sensor in the left door mirror is detected when its value differs too far from the intake, fuel or coolant temperature. This applies once the engine has run warm and has cooled properly.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or contact resistance in the connector
- The outside temperature sensor is damaged
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the outside temperature in live data and compare it with the fuel temperature after the car has cooled
- 2Read the fault code with a diagnostic tool and note whether it is active
- 3With the ignition off, go through the connection to the sensor in the left door mirror and look for oxidation
- 4If the connector is clean and intact but the fault remains, the sensor is damaged and needs replacing
- 5Make sure the fuses are intact. Their location is given in the instruction manual
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp lights up
