What does this fault code mean?
The boost pressure sensor (TMAP) measures both boost pressure and temperature. The fault code is set when the temperature signal is unreasonably low. Possible causes are a poor connection or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Loose connection, contact resistance or oxidation in the connector
- Damaged boost pressure sensor (TMAP)
What you can do
- 1Check that the boost pressure sensor connector is fully seated and free from oxidation
- 2Look for cracks or damage on the sensor housing and the wire
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: after the engine has been off for a longer period, read the sensor temperature in live data and compare it with the ambient temperature
- 4If the connector is in good condition but the temperature still differs, have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module uses a calculated value instead of the measured temperature
