What does this fault code mean?
The boost pressure sensor (TMAP) measures boost pressure and temperature, and the fault code is set when the temperature it reports is unreasonably high. Possible causes are a poor connection or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Loose connection, contact resistance or oxidation in the connector
- Damaged boost pressure sensor (TMAP)
What you can do
- 1Make sure the boost pressure sensor connector is secure and dry
- 2Look for damage on the wire at the sensor and any chafing along the route
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: after the car has been standing, read the temperature in live data and check that the value follows the ambient temperature
- 4Have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor if the fault returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module uses a calculated value instead of the measured temperature
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
