What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the high-pressure side of the fuel system. It is set when the fuel pressure is wrong in an operating mode where the fuel flow control valve controls the pressure, for example when the engine is warm. The fault can lie in the fuel flow from the feed pump or in the injection pump.
Possible causes
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged injection valve
- Damaged fuel flow control valve
- Damaged feed pump, giving excess fuel flow to the injection pump
- Damaged injection pump, giving too high fuel pressure
What you can do
- 1Check the fuel flow control valve plug for oxidation, loose contacts and open circuit
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the fuel flow control valve has no open circuit
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read fuel pressure and valve control in live data with the engine warm
- 4Have a workshop check the injection pump, the injection valves and the feed pump if the fault remains
