What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the signal from the injection valves being incorrect, or the fuel pressure from the regulator being unreasonably low for a longer time. It is set on the high-pressure side of the fuel system while the engine is running. The causes can be damaged injection valves, a clogged fuel system, or faults in sensors and wiring.
Possible causes
- Damaged injection valves, or injection valves of the wrong type
- Clogged fuel system
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire or the signal ground wire
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged fuel pump
What you can do
- 1Check that the injection valves are of the correct type, especially if they have been replaced recently
- 2Check the connectors to the fuel pressure sensor and the fuel pump for oxidation and loose contacts
- 3Look for blocked fuel lines and a clogged fuel filter
- 4Use a multimeter, with the ignition off, to check that the signal wire to the fuel pressure sensor has no contact with voltage and no open circuit
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: read the injection valve signal and the fuel pressure in live data and check that they agree
- 6Have a workshop check the injection valves and the fuel pump if the fault remains

- The engine may hesitate, surge or run jerkily while driving
