What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the fuel pressure in an operating mode where the fuel pressure control valve alone controls the pressure, for example when the engine is cold. It is set when the signal in that mode is above the allowed range. It can be caused by too little fuel flow or too low pressure from the injection pump, for example from a leak, air in the system or a damaged pump.
Possible causes
- Low fuel level in the tank
- Leak in the fuel system
- Air in the fuel lines
- Clogged fuel filter
- Damaged feed pump or injection valve
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve or injection pump
What you can do
- 1Make sure there is enough fuel in the tank
- 2Look for leaks in the fuel lines
- 3Check the fuel filter and the fuel lines for blockage
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure in live data with the engine cold and see whether it rises towards the requested pressure
- 5Have a workshop check the feed pump and the injection valves if the fault returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
