What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the fuel pressure in an operating mode where the fuel pressure control valve alone controls the pressure, for example when the engine is cold. The fault is recorded as intermittent, meaning it is sporadic and may not be present right now. It is set when the pressure is wrong in that mode.
Possible causes
- Air in the fuel lines
- Leak in the fuel system
- Clogged fuel filter
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve or fuel flow valve
- Damaged feed pump
What you can do
- 1Look for loose connectors and chafed wiring to the fuel pressure control valve
- 2Check that the fuel lines do not leak and that the fuel filter is clean
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure in live data during a longer drive and see whether it briefly drops
- 4Have a workshop check the fuel pressure control valve and the feed pump if the fault returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- The car performs worse than normal
What the fault can affect1
- The fuel pump is controlled using a calculated value instead of the measured one
