What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the fuel pressure in an operating mode where the fuel pressure control valve alone controls the pressure, for example when the engine is cold. It is set when the pressure is wrong in that mode. The fault can lie in the sensor, in the valve, or in the supply voltage to the valve, which may be missing.
Possible causes
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Fuel pressure control valve has no supply voltage
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the fuel pressure control valve receives voltage with the ignition on
- 2Check the valve connector and wire for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the fuel pressure control valve with the engine running and listen for it responding
- 4Have a workshop check the fuel pressure sensor and the valve if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- An unusual noise can be heard while driving
What the fault can affect1
- The fuel pump is controlled using a calculated value instead of the measured one
