What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the temperature sensor in the boost pressure sensor, which sits on the intake pipe after the throttle unit. It is set when the signal from the sensor is outside a limit, here too low. Because the sensor measures intake air temperature, the fault can affect exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and the burning of soot particles.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or loose connection in the connector
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Damaged boost pressure sensor (TMAP)
- Damaged air temperature sensor at the intake
What you can do
- 1Check the boost pressure sensor connector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the sensor has no contact with ground, with the ignition on
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the intake air temperature in live data with the ignition on and compare it with the mass air flow sensor value
- 4Have a workshop check the sensor and its wiring if the fault remains

- The engine control module uses a calculated value instead of the measured temperature
- Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is not controlled
- Soot particles are not burned off
