What does this fault code mean?
This fault code concerns the outside temperature sensor in the left mirror, which is compared with the intake air temperature. It is set when the signal from the outside temperature sensor is too high.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connector
- Damaged outside temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the outside temperature sensor has no voltage with the ignition off
- 2Check the connector to the outside temperature sensor in the left mirror for contact resistance
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the outside temperature in live data and see whether it is reasonable compared with the outdoor air
- 4Have a workshop check the outside temperature sensor if the fault returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- Check engine lamp (MIL) lights up
What the fault can affect1
- The lowest intake air temperature value from the mass air flow sensor during the drive cycle is used
