What does this fault code mean?
The ECM measures the intake pressure with an air pressure sensor and compares the reading with a calculated model. The code is stored when the reading strays too far from the model, and The fault concerns a general signal problem from the pressure sensor.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connector terminal
- Damaged air pressure sensor in the intake pipe
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test, including varied driving, to see whether it returns
- 2Look for cracks and loose clamps on the hoses near the intake pipe
- 3Check that the connectors at the pressure sensor are fully engaged and free from oxidation
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, read the pressure sensor value in live data while driving and check that it follows the throttle
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the pressure sensor

- Engine warning lamp (check engine) lit or behaving abnormally
- The car runs poorly and lacks power
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs unevenly during acceleration or steady speed
