What does this fault code mean?
The ECM measures the intake pressure with an air pressure sensor and compares it with a value worked out from a model. The code is stored when the sensor reading is too high compared with the model. It is a comparison failure between the sensor signal and the model, and the control module then works with a fixed pressure value.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connector terminal
- Incorrect hose connection
- Damaged air pressure sensor in the intake pipe
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the hoses to the intake pipe are correctly fitted and not leaking
- 3Check that the sensor connector is fully engaged and free from oxidation and play
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, compare the intake pressure in live data with atmospheric pressure with the ignition on
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the pressure sensor in the intake pipe
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect2
- The air pressure sensor signal is held at a constant value
- Load and air flow are calculated without using the sensor signal
