What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-driven code, meaning an information code that does not point to a fault inside the control module where it is active. It is set when the air pressure sensor reading strays too far from the calculated model. The code is a knock-on effect, so the underlying fault is repaired first. It does not need clearing, because it disappears once the conditions no longer apply.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance at the sensor terminals
- Hose fitted wrongly
- Sensor in the intake pipe damaged
What you can do
- 1Look for other fault codes on the intake pressure sensor or the intake system and deal with those first
- 2Check that the hoses to the intake pipe are correctly fitted and not leaking
- 3Check that the sensor connector sits firmly and is free from oxidation
- 4Have a workshop check the pressure sensor if the code remains once the underlying fault has been repaired
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
