ECM-P010900 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/BARO Sensor Intermittent. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The atmospheric pressure used by the ECM comes from a sensor built into the control module. The code is stored when that signal is missing or wrong. The fault is intermittent, so it may come and go and may not be present when the car is checked.
Possible causes
- Loose connection in the wiring
- Intermittent break in the signal wire
- Damaged atmospheric pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1With the ignition on, read the fault status in diagnostic equipment; if the code is not active now, the fault may have been intermittent
- 2Road test the car and note whether the code returns; if it does, treat it as an active fault
- 3Look for loose connectors and wiring in the engine bay that could cause a sporadic break
- 4With a multimeter, check the signal wire for a break while moving the wiring by hand
- 5If the code returns, have a workshop check the atmospheric pressure sensor inside the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a calculated value instead of the sensor signal
