What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-controlled fault code that is intended as information and does not mean that the control module has a fault. The engine control module checks the signal from the coolant temperature sensor, and the code is set together with another fault code for the same sensor.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Read which other fault codes for the coolant temperature sensor are stored in the control module
- 2Repair the root fault first. This code is a subsequent fault and should not be investigated separately
- 3Clear the code once the root fault has been repaired, then road test the vehicle to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
