ECM-P015324 - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1). General Signal Failures. Signal stuck high
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The front oxygen sensor in bank 2 gives a signal that stays fixed at a high level instead of switching between rich and lean mixture. The engine control module (ECM) compares the sensor signal with how the mixture is controlled and sets the code when the sensor does not activate or responds too slowly.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Short circuit between the wires
- Damaged front oxygen sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Check the connector at the front sensor in bank 2; do not use rust solvent spray or grease
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the sensor are not shorted to each other or to voltage
- 4If the fault remains, try a new front oxygen sensor in bank 2
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor performance
- Check engine light (MIL) on
