What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named for incorrect fuel composition, it concerns a fault in the control module's own processor monitoring, known as a watchdog. The code is set when the normal function of the fuel control does not work, and the fault lies in the engine control module itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the wires and connectors to the engine control module are firmly fitted and free from oxidation
- 2Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 3If the fault returns, the engine control module is damaged; have a workshop replace and program it
