Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (6)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) controls the fuel pressure through the fuel pump and the fuel pressure regulator valve, and compares it with the sensor signal. The code is set when the pressure fails to change as required, or shows an offset, while the engine is switched off. The driver normally notices nothing, but the engine torque may be limited.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections to the fuel pressure regulator valve
- Clogged fuel filter
- Damaged fuel pressure regulator valve
- Damaged fuel pump
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Read and clear the code, then drive the car for a while to see whether it returns
- 3Check the connectors at the fuel pressure regulator valve for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure in live data and see whether it changes when the engine is loaded
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop should check the fuel pump, the pressure regulator valve and the fuel filter
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine torque may be limited
