What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) monitors the signal from pressure sensor A in the fuel distribution pipe. The pressure is expected to reach a certain value within a short time at engine start, and the code is set when the sensor value deviates too much from the calculated value. The fault concerns the level of the signal compared with the expected pressure.
Possible causes
- Signal wire is shorted to earth
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Check the connector at the pressure sensor for damage, oxidation and looseness
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with earth (the body)
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the sensor and its wiring
