What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) monitors the pressure on the high-pressure side of the fuel system with the fuel pressure sensor. The code is set when the signal from the sensor stays at a constant high level instead of varying. The sensor is integrated with the fuel temperature sensor, and the fault concerns the signal from it.
Possible causes
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connector at the fuel pressure sensor for damage, oxidation and looseness
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure in live data with the ignition on and see whether the value stays at a high level
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop should check the fuel pressure sensor, as it is the damaged part according to the cause
Symptoms you may notice2
- The Check engine lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
- Message in the display together with a warning symbol
What the fault can affect2
- A fixed fuel pressure value is used
- The fuel pump is controlled with a constant signal
