What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) checks the four pressure sensors in the injectors against a lowest permitted value. The code is set when any of the readings falls below that lowest value. The fault is intermittent, meaning it is temporary, and it may be gone when you check the car.
Possible causes
- Loose connection or oxidation in the connectors to the injectors
- Faulty pressure sensor in one of the injectors
What you can do
- 1Check the injector connectors for looseness and oxidation
- 2Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure from each injector in live data and see whether any one clearly differs from the others
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensor in the injector that differs
Symptoms you may notice2
- Uneven idle
- The engine may stall, both at idle and while driving
What the fault can affect1
- The value from pressure sensor 4 is used instead
