What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) compares the four pressure sensors in the injectors with each other against a highest permitted value. The code is set when any signal goes above the highest value. The fault is intermittent, meaning sporadic, and it may only be present some of the time.
Possible causes
- Poor contact in the connections to the injectors
- The sensor in one of the injectors is faulty
What you can do
- 1Check the injector connectors for looseness and oxidation
- 2Clear the code and start the engine to see whether it returns
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure from each injector in live data and see whether any one is clearly high compared with the others
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensor in the injector that differs
Symptoms you may notice2
- Uneven idle
- The engine may stall at idle or while driving
What the fault can affect1
- The value from pressure sensor 4 is used instead
