What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) compares the signal levels from the four pressure sensors in the injectors with a highest permitted value. The code is set when a signal goes above that value, and in this case it is linked to the injector on cylinder 3.
Possible causes
- Looseness or oxidation in the connections
- Faulty pressure sensor in the cylinder 3 injector
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connector to the injector on cylinder 3 for looseness and oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure from each injector in live data and see whether cylinder 3 reads high compared with the others
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensor in the injector on cylinder 3
Symptoms you may notice3
- Uneven idle
- The engine may stall at idle or while driving
- The Check engine lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
