What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) compares the signal levels from the four pressure sensors in the injectors with a lowest permitted value. The code is set when a signal falls below that value, and in this case it is linked to the injector on cylinder 3. The fault can show up as uneven idle or the engine stalling.
Possible causes
- Looseness or oxidation in the connections
- Faulty pressure sensor in the cylinder 3 injector
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the injector connectors are secure and free from oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure from each injector in live data and see whether cylinder 3 is low compared with the others
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensor in the injector on cylinder 3
Symptoms you may notice3
- Uneven idle
- The engine may stall at idle or while driving
- The Check engine lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
