What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) compares the signal levels from the four pressure sensors in the injectors with a lowest permitted value. The code is set when a signal level falls below that value. The fault is of the intermittent type, meaning sporadic, and it may not show up when you check the car.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connections
- Faulty pressure sensor in one of the injectors
What you can do
- 1Check the injector connectors for looseness and oxidation
- 2Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure from each injector in live data and see whether any one is clearly low compared with the others
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensors in the injectors
Symptoms you may notice2
- Uneven idle
- The engine may stall, both at idle and while driving
What the fault can affect1
- The value from pressure sensor 1 is used instead
