What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) compares the signal levels from the four pressure sensors in the injectors with a highest permitted value. The code is set when any signal goes above that value. The fault is intermittent and does not occur all the time, so it is not always visible.
Possible causes
- Looseness or oxidation in the connections
- Faulty pressure sensor in one of the injectors
What you can do
- 1Check the injector connectors for looseness and oxidation
- 2Clear the code and start the engine to see whether it returns
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the pressure from each injector in live data and see whether any one reads clearly high compared with the others
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensors in the injectors
Symptoms you may notice2
- Uneven idle
- The engine may stall, both at idle and while driving
What the fault can affect1
- The value from pressure sensor 1 is used instead
