What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) compares the signal levels from the pressure sensors in the injectors on cylinders 1 and 4 with both the highest and the lowest permitted values. The code is set when the signal level for either of these two falls outside the limits. The signal is erratic.
Possible causes
- Looseness or oxidation in the connections
- Faulty pressure sensor in the injector on cylinder 1
- Faulty pressure sensor in the injector on cylinder 4
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connectors to the injectors on cylinders 1 and 4 for looseness and oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the pressure from the injectors on cylinders 1 and 4 with the others in live data and see whether either differs
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the pressure sensors in the injectors on cylinders 1 and 4
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine may stall at idle
- The engine may stall while driving
