What does this fault code mean?
The fault concerns the injector on cylinder 3, which receives no signal from the control module. The circuit is checked from the earth side, and the code is set when the signal is missing.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance at the connections to the injector
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the voltage supply
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the injector on cylinder 3 has no break
- 4Check the connector at the injector on cylinder 3 for damage and contact resistance
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the injector on cylinder 3
Symptoms you may notice4
- The Check engine lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
- Poor performance and lack of power while driving
- The engine hesitates or surges while driving
- The engine sounds abnormal
