What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) checks the circuit to the injector on cylinder 4 from the earth side. The code is set when there is no signal in that circuit.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the voltage supply to the injector
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 3Check the connector to the injector on cylinder 4 for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the injector on cylinder 4 has no break
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the injector on cylinder 4 and its voltage supply
