What does this fault code mean?
The control module (ECM) controls the injection timing for the injector on cylinder 6. The code is set when the control signal to the injector is out of range or absent, and lambda control is then blocked.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the injector connector
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire or the voltage supply wire
- Open circuit in the voltage supply wire
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Read and clear the code, then start the engine to see whether it returns
- 3Check the connector to the injector on cylinder 6 for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the injector on cylinder 6 have no break and are not shorted to voltage or earth
- 5If the fault remains, a workshop with diagnostic equipment should check the injector on cylinder 6 and the wires to it
Symptoms you may notice5
- The environmental warning lamp lights up
- The engine does not run on all cylinders
- Cranking is fine, but the engine does not start
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs unevenly on acceleration or at steady speed
- Poor performance and lack of power
What the fault can affect1
- Lambda control is blocked
