What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) checks the boost pressure sensor signal. The fault is set when the signal stays below a certain value for a set time, and it concerns a voltage that is too low in the sensor circuit.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Damaged boost pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Look at the boost pressure sensor connector for oxidation and loose connections
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the boost pressure sensor is not shorted to ground
- 4Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice2
- The check engine lamp comes on or behaves abnormally
- The car feels poor to drive, with reduced performance and lack of power
What the fault can affect1
- Boost pressure is limited
