What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the boost pressure from boost pressure sensor B with atmospheric pressure. The fault is set when the difference between them becomes too large with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Damaged boost pressure sensor B
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read boost pressure in live data with the ignition on and compare it with atmospheric pressure. A large difference points to sensor B
- 3Look at the connector to boost pressure sensor B for oxidation and loose connections
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check boost pressure sensor B with diagnostic equipment
