What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal wire to the turbo control valve and sets the code when it detects a break there. It is an electrical fault with an open circuit.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the supply wire
- Damaged turbo control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the turbo control valve and listen from the engine bay for a clear click
- 3Check the fuse for the circuit. Fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual
- 4Look at the turbo control valve connector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 5Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire between the engine control module and the turbo control valve is not broken
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the supply wire from the system relay to the turbo control valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- The car feels poor to drive, with reduced performance and lack of power
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
