What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal wire to the turbo control valve. The fault is set when the voltage on that wire is too low.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged turbo control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Look at the turbo control valve connector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the turbo control valve is not shorted to positive
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the turbo control valve and listen for a click
- 5Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the turbo control valve with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp comes on
