What does this fault code mean?
The signal wire to the turbo control valve is shorted to battery voltage, which the engine control module (ECM) detects as a voltage that is too high. The fault is then set.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged turbo control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the turbo control valve and listen while it operates
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire between the control module and the turbo control valve has no contact with positive
- 4Look at the turbo control valve connector for chafing and loose connections
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the turbo control valve with diagnostic equipment
