What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the charge air cooler bypass valve. The fault is set when the control module registers that the valve has stuck while it is being commanded.
Possible causes
- Bypass valve is sticking or jammed
- Damaged bypass valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2With a diagnostic tool, activate the bypass valve and check that it can be moved
- 3Look at the bypass valve for dirt and damage
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the bypass valve with diagnostic equipment
