What does this fault code mean?
The ECM watches the fuel pressure control valve and how it works. The fault is set when the PWM signal that controls the valve is too low, or when the valve draws too much current.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Look at the fuel pressure control valve connector for oxidation and loose connections
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the valve is not shorted to ground
- 4Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel pressure control valve with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
