The ECM monitors the fuel pressure control valve. The fault is set when the PWM signal that controls the valve is too high, or when the valve draws too much current.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the fuel pressure control valve has no contact with positive
- 3Look at the valve connector for chafing and loose connections
- 4Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel pressure control valve with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
