ECM-P025129
VOLVO
ECM-P025129 - Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control A. General Signal Failures. Signal signal invalid
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The ECM watches the fuel pressure control valve and how it works. The fault is set when the signal is invalid, for example when the PWM signal is too high or too low, or when the valve draws too much current.
Possible causes
- The fuel pressure control valve is sticking, and there may be contamination such as water or dirt in the fuel system
- Signal wire shorted to ground or voltage
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Think back to whether you recently fuelled with poor-quality fuel, since water and dirt can make the valve stick
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to ground or positive
- 4Look at the valve connector for oxidation and loose connections
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel system and the fuel pressure control valve with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
