What does this fault code mean?
The ECM watches the fuel pressure control valve and how it works. The fault is set when the control module registers a temperature that is too high in connection with the valve, which can cause the engine to stall or not start.
Possible causes
- The fuel pressure control valve is sticking, and there may be contamination such as water or dirt in the fuel system
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuel level in the tank is not low, and top up if it is
- 3Check whether the fuel filter is clogged or old, and have a workshop replace it if needed
- 4Look under the car and along the fuel lines for fuel leaks
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel pressure control valve with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice3
- The car feels poor to drive, with reduced performance and lack of power
- The engine stalls
